“They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed.” Ezekiel 13:6
The prophets of the Jewish people preach and teach with pointless words and false hopes. They discard the entire New Testament as they deny their people access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They speak as though the Old Testament is the final word that God has to say, and they declare, “Thus says the Lord” but God has not sent them with His word. God sent His Son Jesus Christ to bring the Good News of the Kingdom of God. “Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:14-15 Even then, the prophets of the Jewish people hope that their Old Testament preaching will pass as the truth without acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Savior.
The ministers of today’s churches have a futile vision with false hopes that they are preaching and teaching. They even quote scriptures from the Bible but refuse to recognize the Deity of Jesus Christ as God’s Son who infills with the Holy Spirit. The message of the Cross has been lost and no more is it heard that Jesus Christ gave His life on the Cross to forgive sin. No more is it heard that we are sinners who need to acknowledge Christ Jesus. No more is it heard that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and He is returning. No more is it heard that there is eternal life for everyone who believes in Jesus and eternal hell for those who reject Him. Even then, the ministers of today hope that what they preach and teach will be confirmed as truth. The word of God says this, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
The word the ministers of today are preaching is mingled with community values instead of based on the word of God. The churches of today are molded with the community culture, which is the global culture. They depend on the entity that gives them what to say, think, do, and feel to build a utopian society on this earth. This entity wants its word to excel above the word of God. In fact, this is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Click here for a post on the “man of sin”. Those who serve this entity hope that their word will stand as truth, and they believe the Good News of Jesus Christ is an obstacle to their utopian goals.
