And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid.” Ezekiel 34:28

Today, we see how Israel has become prey for the nations (the world government of the beast) and they are being devoured by the global culture of the beast. Since the year the State of Israel was established in 1948, the Israelis have been involved in 18 wars, Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page. With that, the members of the United Nations have opened a case of genocide against Israel, World Court to hear Genocide Case Against Israel. The members of the UN are also pursuing arrest warrants of Israeli officials on charges of war crimes. With all of that, the masses of the global culture are rioting and protesting against the existence of the State of Israel. It doesn’t become any better for the land of Israel as they are caught in the middle of the Battle of Armageddon of Revelation 16:12-17. That battle is just about the last major event on this earth before the Day of the Lord and the return of Jesus Christ.

When God says “…they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid” we have to remember that there are no such promises for the Jewish people in the New Testament. The Jewish people must come to God through Jesus Christ in order to obtain the promise of safety, peace, and eternal life in the New Jerusalem of the new heaven and earth. Jesus Christ spoke these words to the Jewish people, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:38-39

Whenever the Old Testament speaks of peace, safety, prosperity, etc. for Israel, we have to know that Christianity has inherited the blessings of Israel through Jesus Christ. “The older shall serve the younger.” As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” Romans 9:12-13 This refers to the Jewish people being the older child because they were here before the younger child of Christianity. The younger child ends up with the blessings of the older child.

The followers of Jesus Christ will face a time of grueling affliction within the tribulation of this world, as Jesus Christ said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” John 15:186 The “he” in the following verse refers to the beast of the image and mark of the beast. “Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. “It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:7-8

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12

God promises that whoever believes in His Son Jesus Christ will not perish but will have eternal life. God has arranged a day when Believers will no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour us; but we will live safely, and no one shall make us afraid. In the New Jerusalem, “…God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:4-5

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
