“I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself;
that where I am, there you may be also.”
John 14:2-3
- We are keeping a light on and waiting for the return of Jesus Christ.
- We who watch for Him are blessed and will eat with Him in the New Jerusalem.
- We also need to watch against the mark of the beast.
- The blessing of Christ’s return has transferred from the Jews to Christianity.
- Jesus is coming when no one is looking for Him, and they are condemned.
- We will be judged according to what we do with what we know.
We are keeping a light on and waiting for the return of Jesus Christ. The phrase, “I’ll keep the light on for you,” is something we are familiar with. It means the porch lights or window lights would be left on in expectation of a visitor. That is what this verse means, “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.” Luke 12:35-36 Jesus Christ is returning, and He will know we are expecting Him because the light of His Holy Spirit will be in us. Let’s keep holding to His Gospel. We are blessed when we watch for His return, “Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching.” Luke 37a. I’ve been watching and I see how close the return of Jesus is,
- Global warming is here, and it is instrumental in destroying the power center of the mark of the beast, Revelation 16:8-10.
- The mark of the beast is here as described in Revelation 13, and from its arrival there is only “42 months” until the return of Jesus, “And it was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and it was given authority to continue for forty-two months.” Revelation 13:5
- The global government is here as described in Daniel 8 as well as Revelation 17.
- Jesus Christ is returning when no one believes nor is aware that He is returning because they serve the mark of the beast, and that sounds like today, “All who dwell on the earth will worship it, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8 Jesus Christ is the master of this creation, “…the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware…” Luke 12:46
We who watch for Him are blessed and will eat with Him in the New Jerusalem. For those of us watching for His return, He says, “Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.” Luke 12:37b. Also, it is written here, “Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” Revelation 19:9 Whether He comes in the evening, or midnight, or predawn, if we are watching for His return then we are blessed, “And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.” Luke 12:38
We also need to watch against the mark of the beast. There is something else we have to watch out for, there is a thing in this world that has power over physiology and is able to form thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors. It wants to break into our home of the Holy Spirit and turn us into the seat of government for the mark of the beast. It is a thief, “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.” Luke 12:39 With the global government, global warming, and the mark of the beast being in this world, the return of Jesus could be coming at any time, “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Luke 12:40
The blessing of Christ’s return has transferred from the Jews to Christianity. “Then Peter said to Him, “Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?” Luke 12:41 When Peter asked this question, he was pretty much still in the Jewish frame of mind, which is the belief that God’s blessings are for the Jews and no one else. However, the blessings of the Jewish people have been given to the followers of Jesus Christ. All through the Bible, it is symbolized that the younger child (Christians) has been given the blessings of the older child (Israel). That is represented when Jacob was blessed over Esau, Zerah’s birth over Perez, Ephraim was blessed over Manasseh etc. The blessings of Salvation, the Holy Spirit, and eternal life were all intended to go to the older child, the Jewish nation. When they rejected Jesus Christ as their Messiah, they lost all of that blessing and then it all went to the younger child, Christianity.
In response to Peter’s question of whether Jesus was speaking to the Jews only or to everyone, Jesus replied, “And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?” Luke 12:42 Jesus knew He was making Peter and the Apostles ruler over His house, to bring the Gospel to the whosoever when their time had come. Blessed is everyone who lets the light of Christ shine to proclaim that He is coming back, we will inherit a place in the kingdom of God, “Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.” Luke 12:43-44
Jesus is coming when no one is looking for Him, and they are condemned. The Jewish nation was looking for a military leader on the day of His coming, and that didn’t seem likely to happen under the Roman Empire, and certainly is not going to happen in the State of Israel today under the global government of the mark of the beast. Jesus says this to them, “But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk…” Luke 12:45 As followers of Jesus Christ, if we give up on His coming back, then we are going to be subjected to the influence of those who live by the mark of the beast. We would afflict the people of God, indulge in a carnal lifestyle, blaspheme God, reject the need for the remission of sin, and trample on the Holy Spirit.
The State of Israel is not looking for the return of Jesus because they do not believe in His Deity, and those who live for the mark of the beast are certainly not looking for His return. Jesus is going to return on a day when no one is looking for Him, and that sounds like today because the world follows the mark of the beast, “All who dwell on the earth will worship it, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8 The Jews will have their portion with the unbelievers, and the unbelievers have their portion in eternal Hell. Jesus Christ is the master of this creation, “…the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” Luke 12:46
We will be judged according to what we do with what we know. There are many people, and many of them can be found in the churches, who know the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. They know about God’s plan of Salvation, as stated here, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Unfortunately, they are not preparing for the return of Jesus, but instead are preparing for the global family of the mark of the beast. They are not doing God’s will by uplifting the name of Jesus and sharing His Gospel, and as a result they will suffer eternal punishment at the day of judgment. “And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.” Luke 12:47
The younger generations have much less knowledge of what the message of the Cross is, and the generations after them will have very little knowledge of any of the teachings of the Bible. Each person will be judged accordingly, “The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.” Revelation 20:13 Jesus says that here, “But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:48
One thing we cannot do is refuse to read the Bible in an effort to shake off responsibility for what we know, as explained here,
“Then he who had received the one talent came and said,
‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown,
and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground.
Look, there you have what is yours.’ “
But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant…
Matthew 25:24-26
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
