Victory is given to Jesus Christ over this world. God has made Jesus Christ the commander-in-chief and we are His soldiers. This present world and all its inhabitants will fall to Jesus, and we share the victory with Him. While this world system governs and lives by the mark of the beast, in the Spirit of Christ we are told not to fear nor be dismayed. That is represented in what the Lord said to Joshua, “Now the Lord said to Joshua: “Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.” Joshua 8:1 This world will fall like Jericho, which has built up walls and shut out Jesus Christ and His people. The world and everything in it belong to God. There is a global ambush that God has laid against this world in the name of Jesus, “And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its cattle you shall take as booty for yourselves. Lay an ambush for the city behind it.” Joshua 8:2

The plan of ambush against this world is laid out. Jesus Christ has sent out His soldiers of the Cross in the night of this Christless world. As symbolized here, “So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai; and Joshua chose thirty thousand mighty men of valor and sent them away by night.” Joshua 8:3 Jesus Christ wants us to be ready for the day when He leads His ambush against this world. He tells us to be set apart from the social network of those living for the mark of the beast, to lie down behind them, but not to be recluses, as symbolized here, “And he commanded them, saying: “Behold, you shall lie in ambush against the city, behind the city. Do not go very far from the city, but all of you be ready.” Joshua 8:4

This world perceives that the people of God are on the run, as written here, “Then I and all the people who are with me will approach the city; and it will come about, when they come out against us as at the first, that we shall flee before them.” Joshua 8:5 Those who govern by the mark of the beast are relentless against the people of God, “For they will come out after us till we have drawn them from the city, for they will say, ‘They are fleeing before us as at the first.’ Therefore we will flee before them.” Joshua 8:6 Those lying in ambush will rise to seize the city, as stated here, “Then you shall rise from the ambush and seize the city, for the Lord your God will deliver it into your hand.” Joshua 8:7 As followers of Jesus Christ, we might be lying behind those of this world, being set apart for God, but we are very much alive in Jesus. God’s judgment comes as this world is set on fire with global tribulation, which brings the collapse of the global government and gives victory to the people of God in Jesus name, as symbolized, “And it will be, when you have taken the city, that you shall set the city on fire. According to the commandment of the Lord you shall do. See, I have commanded you.” Joshua 8:8

Jesus Christ is with us throughout the ambush plan. Jesus Christ has sent us out into this vicious world, governed by the mark of the beast, and He is right here with us in the darkness, as symbolized by Joshua, “Joshua therefore sent them out; and they went to lie in ambush, and stayed between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai; and Joshua lodged that night among the people.” Joshua 8:9 Jesus Christ is the Bright Morning Star, and at the end of this dark night under the rule of the mark of the beast, He is coming back. Jesus rallies His people to show themselves as being with Him, in the face of those who live for the society of the mark of the beast, as symbolized through Joshua, “Then Joshua rose up early in the morning and mustered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai.” Joshua 8:10

Jesus Christ has His people camping out in this world as we wait for His return, the day of His ambush, “And all the people of war who were with him went up and drew near; and they came before the city and camped on the north side of Ai. Now a valley lay between them and Ai.” Joshua 8:11 The followers of Jesus Christ are in the valley where the shadow of death is seen. Jesus is just waiting for the all-out persecution of His people, and in preparation for that day, He has set an ambush, as symbolized here, “So he took about five thousand men and set them in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city.” Joshua 8:12 Jesus Christ is in the midst of the valley with us in the dark night of the persecution of His people, He is the Lily of the Valley and the Bright Morning Star. Joshua symbolizes Jesus Christ, “And when they had set the people, all the army that was on the north of the city, and its rear guard on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley.” Joshua 8:13

The ambush plan of Jesus Christ goes into action. When the global government of the mark of the beast sees the growth of a Christian gathering, they come out against them to eliminate their presence. Everyone who lives for the mark of the beast will be put in motion to get rid of one, and that is a very popular phrase today, “There’s one!” The global tribulation culminates into a global war, which is known as the Battle of Armageddon, and Israel is involved in the destruction, as written, “Now it happened, when the king of Ai saw it, that the men of the city hurried and rose early and went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at an appointed place before the plain.” Joshua 8:14a. There is one thing that this global government of the beast does not factor in, Jesus Christ has an ambush plan against them. “But he did not know that there was an ambush against him behind the city.” Joshua 8:14b. They do not believe in anything Divine, have no belief in Bible prophecy, and have no belief in the judgment to come. They live by the mark of the beast but denies that it is the mark of the beast (Revelation 13), they acknowledge global warming but deny that it will destroy the power center of the mark of the beast (Revelation 16:8-10), they have established the global government but deny it has anything to do with Revelation 17 or Daniel 8.

Today, there is no doubt that the government of the mark of the beast considers Jesus Christ and all the people of God to be beaten. Even Israel has no support in the United Nations when it comes to reclaiming their heritage. This verse represents that, “And Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.” Joshua 8:15 The masses in every city around the world are emboldened against Jesus and all the people of God, they even boast, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:4 Christianity and the State of Israel are being pursued to their death, as written, “So all the people who were in Ai were called together to pursue them. And they pursued Joshua and were drawn away from the city.” Joshua 8:16 The social network of those who live for the mark of the beast is in every city around the world, and they already come together to chase out Jesus Christ, His Gospel, and the people of God. They are hostile now and their despite against Christianity and Israel will intensify, everyone will actively seek to put down one of God’s people. They live on the phrase, “There’s one!” “There was not a man left in Ai or Bethel who did not go out after Israel. So they left the city open and pursued Israel.” Joshua 8:17

When Jesus returns, He is going to destroy His enemies, and He has a whole army from Heaven with Him,

“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.
And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.
He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
Revelation 19:11-14

When the severe persecution is in process, and the Battle of Armageddon has transpired, God is going to give the command to Jeus Christ to stretch out His spear towards this world, and all nations will become His, “Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Stretch out the spear that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.” And Joshua stretched out the spear that was in his hand toward the city.” Joshua 8:18 When Jesus Christ returns to destroy this global government, those who have died as a Christian will raise from their graves and be brought up in the air with Jesus. Those who are still alive will be brought up in the air with Jesus at the same time, and we all meet together in the air. The earth will be hurriedly set ablaze with fire. “So those in ambush arose quickly out of their place; they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand, and they entered the city and took it, and the city was hurriedly set on fire.” Joshua 8:19 The inhabitants of this earth will have no place to run to, and through Jesus Christ the people of God have their revenge on their persecutors, “And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and behold, the smoke of the city ascended to heaven. So they had no power to flee this way or that way, and the people who had fled to the wilderness turned back on the pursuers.” Joshua 8:20

Jesus Christ and all the armies with Him are going to strike down all the inhabitants of the world. “Now when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city and that the smoke of the city ascended, they turned back and struck down the men of Ai. Then the others came out of the city against them; so they were caught in the midst of Israel, some on this side and some on that side. And they struck them down, so that they let none of them remain or escape.” Joshua 8:21-22

The beast, second beast (false prophet), and Satan are destroyed. Only Jesus Christ and His armies are able to destroy the beast, second beast, and Satan. When Jesus returns to destroy the global government of the mark of the beast, Satan remains alive, but the beast and second beast (false prophet) are killed and thrown into the lake of fire, as written here, “And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” Revelation 19:19-20

When the beast and second beast (false prophet) are destroyed, we live with Jesus Christ on this earth for “1000 years.” “Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4 During this time, Satan is alive but bound. After those “1000 years,” he is let loose for a very short time then is destroyed. After that, the judgment comes and then the new heaven and earth are created, where the eternal New Jerusalem is.

Satan is taken alive but bound for a “1000 years” and brought to Jesus Christ to deal with, as represented in this verse, “But the king of Ai they took alive, and brought him to Joshua.” Joshua 8:23 That is also verified in this verse, “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years…” Revelation 20:1-2 Before Satan is killed and thrown into the lake of fire with the beast and second beast (false prophet), he will be released after “1000 years,” for a very short time, “Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison.” Revelation 20:7 Satan and his army will try to fight against the people of God and will be destroyed, “They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.” Revelation 20:9

When Satan is destroyed, that will be the end of this heaven and earth. That is represented when Joshua and his armies went back the second time to wipe out all the inhabitants, “And it came to pass when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness where they pursued them, and when they all had fallen by the edge of the sword until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned to Ai and struck it with the edge of the sword. So it was that all who fell that day, both men and women, were twelve thousand—all the people of Ai. For Joshua did not draw back his hand, with which he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.” Joshua 8:24-26 At the end of this present heaven and earth, God will create a new heaven and earth for the New Jerusalem, and we will have the booty of eternal life, “Only the livestock and the spoil of that city Israel took as booty for themselves, according to the word of the Lord which He had commanded Joshua.” Joshua 8:27

This present heaven and earth will be destroyed by Jesus Christ forever, “So Joshua burned Ai and made it a heap forever, a desolation to this day.” Joshua 8:28 Satan will be killed and thrown into the lake of fire just before the creation of the new heaven and earth, as written here, “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Revelation 20:10 That is represented in this verse, “And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until evening. And as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his corpse down from the tree, cast it at the entrance of the gate of the city, and raise over it a great heap of stones that remains to this day.” Joshua 8:29

After the beast, second beast (false prophet), and Satan are thrown to their death in the lake fire, a new heaven and earth will be created. That is our eternal home with Jesus Christ called the New Jerusalem. “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Revelation 21:1-2

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
