The New Jerusalem is not the Global Democracy

An Earthly Utopia is not Possible.

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off…”

Our ancestors of Christianity died while holding on to their faith for obtaining the earthly promised land. They saw the promises as being for a future time, embraced them, and said plainly that they were foreigners in this world. They were definitely looking for a place to call home. Today, those of us who live by faith in Christ have a clearer picture of the promised land. It is a new heaven and earth that comes after this present heaven and earth is destroyed. It is an eternal place called the New Jerusalem. Even then, like our ancestors, we accept the promise of eternal life by seeing the Eternal City as being a future hope. We embrace the promises knowing that we are foreigners in a Christless world, a world that rejects the hope given to us through Jesus Christ.

The nations of today are looking to establish an earthly utopia called the global “democracy”. Their faith is in the thing that has power over physiology and can form thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors. They are living by the mark of the beast and depend on the force of their numbers to usher in their future hope, “All who dwell on the earth will worship it, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8 As is evident today, and mentioned in Revelation 16:8-10, global warming is an event that they will never overcome, it is instrumental in the destruction of the power center of the mark of the beast.

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off,
embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.”
Hebrews 11:13-14

God Prepares a City for those Set Apart from the Earthly Utopia.

But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God.”

Our Christian ancestors didn’t even think about returning to the earthly comforts and riches, if they did, they would have had the opportunity to do so, “And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out,
they would have had opportunity to return.” Even though the majority of people rebelled against God and wanted to go back to the worldly security, those who had faith in God held to the promise given to them. Just like us, we who hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ will inherit eternal life. The faith of our ancestors has formed the Christian faith that we have today. Once the eyes of our ancestors were removed from earthly comforts, they continued forward in their desire for a better heavenly country. Today, we followers of Jesus Christ do not have earthly comforts and riches because the world is hostile to the teachings of the Bible, “It was granted to it to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given it over every people, tongue, and nation.” Revelation 13:7 Even so, we continue forward with a better hope than a global “democracy,” we desire the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.

The followers of Jesus Christ have a faith that pleases God, “Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.” The faith of our ancestors has formed the faith we have today.

“And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out,
they would have had opportunity to return.
But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country.
Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.”
Hebrews 11:15-16

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
