Influencers of Gospel Punished by Governing Authorities

Acts 4:13-22

  • Authorities Consider Followers of Christ to be Fugitives.
  • Authorities Decide to Warn About Spreading the Gospel.
  • Christ Followers Persist to Speak the Gospel Message.
  • Decision Made to Punish those Spreading the Gospel.

Authorities Considers Followers of Christ to be Fugitives.
When it is written, “and they took note that these men had been with Jesus,” that was not to flatter them. It’s the same way that they took note of Peter when he was being accused of being a follower of Christ. That happened during the time of Christ’s betrayal when Peter denied Him three times. Now, Peter is strong and has been infilled with the Holy Spirit and is speaking with a fiery tongue. Peter and John were seen in the same way as the FBI sees the people on the Top Eleven Most Wanted list. The authorities had a very simple way of recognizing the fugitives, they were bold, ordinary, and uneducated. Yet, at the same time they had a massive following as they were bringing people to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The authorities ordered the men out of the chambers, and they called a recess to have a private conference on how to deal with the problem.

Even today, followers of Jesus Christ are uneducated, ordinary, and bold people. We are uneducated because the unGodly curriculum learned in the schools is not taken to heart, not practiced. We are ordinary because we are not empowered by the thing that has power over physiology which operates through the mark of the beast. We are seen as being bold and courageous in sharing the testimony of Jesus Christ because we speak against the push to eliminate the influence of Christianity. With the infilling of the Holy Spirit, a fire burns within the followers of Christ to talk about the hope there is in Him. Even today, those spreading the teachings of the Bible are asked to leave, asked to leave from the social network. Meanwhile, those who govern by the mark of the beast are conferring together to eliminate the spread of Christianity.

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that
they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished, and they took note
that these men had been with Jesus.
But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them,
there was nothing they could say.
So, they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together.”
Acts 4:13-15

Authorities Decide to Warn About Spreading the Gospel.
Evangelists like Billy Grahm no longer exist in our society, his four- or-five-day crusades used to be televised on a major TV network such as ABC, NBC, or CBS. Likewise, although there are 166,000 migrants a month coming to the US/Mexico border, not one single evangelist is proclaiming the promised land that comes through believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I can hear the authorities saying, “we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.” With such an enormous potential for evangelism, in a world of people seeking a better life, Salvation through Jesus Christ is the answer. But those who govern by the mark of the beast have devised plans “to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people.” When it comes to those who proclaim the name of Jesus Christ, the authorities are constantly saying in their private chambers, “What are we going to do with these (people)?”

“What are we going to do with these men?” they asked.
“Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign,
and we cannot deny it.
But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people,
we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”
Acts 4:16-17

Christ Followers Persist to Speak the Gospel Message.
When Peter and John were told to stop speaking and teaching in the name of Jesus, their response was, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to Him?” That is the question that followers of Christ must answer today, do we listen to what Jesus Christ taught us to do or do we listen to those who govern by the mark of the beast. If we continue teaching and preaching the Gospel, then we speak against the “global democracy” that fights against Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. If we follow the direction of this world, which follows the thing that has power to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, then we are fighting against God. Like Peter and John, the only response for us is, “As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

We see the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation unfolding in front of our eyes, and we have heard the testimony of Jesus Christ, the Gospel has to be spoke and taught.

“Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak
or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
But Peter and John replied,
“Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to Him? You be the judges!
As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:18-20

Decision Made to Punish those Spreading the Gospel.
The intent of authorities is to put down the Gospel of Jesus Christ quietly. It’s something that is not placed on voting ballots, not discussed at townhall meetings, nor heard about through news sources. “They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.” Instead of making a public circus of sweeping the Gospel under the carpet, they decide to put on the sheep’s clothing to hide their wolfly intent. They put on pleasant smiles, say all the right buzzwords, and talk of the great plan for a kinder and gentler world. Within their heart, behind closed doors, in their private meetings they continue to make threats against the evangelizing in the name of Jesus Christ. They continue to discuss how to punish the “influencers.” In the push to establish the global constitution, which governs through the mark of the beast, they will be more aggressive against Christians. The global tribulation is coming but our Salvation is in Jesus Christ. Jesus is coming soon.

“After further threats they let them go.
They could not decide how to punish them,
because all the people were praising God for what had happened.
For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.”
Acts 4:21-22

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:11
