CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Evacuations were underway in Chillicothe on Tuesday after a bomb scare.
Police, along with firefighters have a large portion of the city’s east end sectioned off and have issued evacuation orders impacting Eastern Avenue, Watt Street, and Douglas Avenue.
The exact location of the scene is 674 Eastern Avenue. When firefighters arrived on the scene after a call, they found the “item” to be “above their ability” and the Columbus Bomb Squad was called to the scene.
The area remains under evacuation and the streets, including Greenlawn Cemetery are closed as of 3 p.m.”
The location of the bomb threat is where a Harley Davidson dealership is. If it’s not the same piece of property, it is very close to it. Just north of the bomb location is Glencroft Avenue, my best friend from elementary school lived on that street. We spent a lot of time together on that street.
