When the Spirit of Jesus Christ mixes with the Bible an enormous amount of insight arises. Without the Spirit of Christ, the Bible is gutted of any relevant meaning at all. This present society makes it a purpose to keep the Bible and the Spirit of Jesus Christ separate. The thing that has power over physiology and is able to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the wedge between Christ and the Bible. It is the mark of the beast.
The Events of the Death of Jesus are Talked About
The Bible can be talked about between a couple of people, or in Bible groups, or through online Bible studies, or by following along through Television and Radio Bible discussions. But until the Spirit of Jesus Christ enters the discussion then it amounts to nothing. Many discussions and Bible studies talk about all sorts of things, but they are never enlightening through Christ’s Spirit. When discussing about His crucifixion there is a lot of talk about His age, who Simon of Cyrene was, why Pilate and Herod became friends, who were really the women crying for Him, etc. They continue on with all types of names, places, dates, times, etc. but never welcomes the Spirit of Jesus Christ into the discussion.
I could copy and paste many posts from blogs that are secularized and gut the Spirit of Christ from the scriptures. They are the ones who discard the Gospel and use God’s name to refer to a humanitarian agenda. Their belief is for an earthly utopia and not the eternity of the New Jerusalem. They can talk for hours on end about the Bible but not once mention God in context with the Gospel of Jesus. In all their talk, there is no mention of His death for the atonement of sin, nor of His resurrection from the dead, nor of His ascension into heaven as the Lord of lords. They keep walking along in their hope for heaven on earth and Jesus Christ is there asking, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”
The ones talking about the earthly hope of a new global order usually respond along the lines of, “Where are you from, Mars?” if asked what they are talking about. That is how they treat those who live for Jesus Christ. The two men in the verses below were talking about the events that had just happened around the death of Jesus Christ. But it didn’t occur to them that there could be a literal resurrection from the dead. Yet, as they were discussing the things about the Crucifixion, Christ Himself approached them. That encounter set off a chain of events that would put the Bible in connection with Christ’s Spirit. It would open their eyes to an enormous revelation that would change their life forever.
“Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus,
about seven miles from Jerusalem.
They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.
As they talked and discussed these things with each other,
Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing Him.
He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”
They stood still, their faces downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, asked Him,
“Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know
the things that have happened there in these days?”
Christ Explains the Events of His Death and Resurrection through the Bible
When the two men were asked what they were talking about, by the resurrected Jesus, they were willing to engage in that conversation with Him. That is the beginning of revelation and becoming enlightened, to invite the Spirit of Christ into discussions about the Bible. When Jesus is talked about it is necessary to talk about Him in the presence of Christ’s Spirit. The Holy Spirit will bring the proper interpretation of all the scriptures from Genesis to the Revelation.
Christ’s death and resurrection is not to bring heaven on earth, it is to make atonement for sin so that believers can come to God and be resurrected to eternal life. Jesus is the difference between believing in the New Jerusalem and working for an earthly utopia. Even the most well-intended of Christ’s followers were hoping for Israel’s restoration on earth. After His resurrection, He made it understood that the New Jerusalem was not earthly, and those who believe in Him will be resurrected from the dead to live there. The two men who are conversing with Jesus has already heard from the women that Christ’s body is no longer in the grave, and it is an unexplained mystery to them. But, when the Spirit of Christ mixes with the Scripture, enormous insight comes, and mysteries are revealed.
When the Holy Spirit is part of Bible reading then the scriptures open up, they are understood, and mysteries are explained. It’s foolish to believe in any other destination for the world then what is written in the Bible. It’s foolish to believe that Jesus Christ is anything other than what the Bible says about Him through the Holy Spirit. When reading the Bible, the Spirit of Christ encourages us to believe everything that is written. That includes the resurrection of Jesus Christ after He was dead for three days. As the Bible says through the Spirit of Christ, He has entered the Paradise of God. That is where He is today. He has left the Holy Spirit here on earth to guide us into His Truth. Through the Holy Spirit, believers are transformed into the image of Christ.
“What things?” He asked.
“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied.
“He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.
The chief priests and our rulers handed Him over to be sentenced to death,
and they crucified Him;
but we had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel.
And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.
In addition, some of our women amazed us.
They went to the tomb early this morning but didn’t find His body.
They came and told us that they had seen a vision of Angels, who said He was alive.
Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said,
but they did not see Jesus.”
He said to them,
“How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter His glory?”
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets,
He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself.”
Eyes Open by the Spirit of Christ.
When the Spirit of Christ sits with me while I read the Bible, my eyes are going to open. Everything about Jesus will be clearly seen, He will be recognized from the book of Genesis to the Revelation. There will be a burning within my heart as He opens the Scriptures to me. That is the burning that I feel as I read the scriptures to compel me to share through these posts what I have been shown.
Today, the Spirit of Christ is being separated from the Bible by those who govern society by the mark of the beast. They gut the Gospel of Christ from the Word of God. Before my grandmother died, about thirty years ago, she would always say that I have to hide the Word of God in the heart because one day it will be the only Word I have. Even today, just thirty years later, and the Gospel of Christ is disappearing, even as the Spirit of Christ is disappearing from this world. Although I may not see Him in the graveyard of this world, I know He is risen. My eyes have been opened, and I know that He is alive, resurrected, and has ascended into Heaven.
The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, is able to take me places that is far beyond where I could even imagine going. But I want Him to be where I am, I want Him to open the Bible to me just as far as I am able to understand at this moment. And He will stay with me exactly where I am, to open the Bible through His Spirit according to where my understanding is today. I will hold on to the testimony of Jesus Christ as these days become darker, I know He is returning soon as the Bright Morning Star.
“As they approached the village to which they were going,
Jesus continued on as if He were going farther. But they urged Him strongly,
“Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.”
So, He went in to stay with them. When He was at the table with them,
He took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them.
Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him, and He disappeared from their sight.
They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while
He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
News of Christ’s Resurrection Begins to Spread.
The two men had their hearts burning with the revelation that the resurrected Jesus brought to them as they walked together and broke bread together. They had an urgent message to tell, they had an immediate desire to tell others that He is alive. The One who was dead for three days has been resurrected from the grave and He is alive. They saw the risen Savior. That is the same message that I must always keep in my heart, that I have seen the risen Savior. From my walk with Jesus Christ and reading the Bible in the company of His Spirit, I have that same burning desire to tell others, He is alive! Even though this world thinks they have killed the Gospel of Christ, He is not dead, but He is alive. He is in Heaven and is returning soon to bring me home into the New Jerusalem.
The Eleven Apostles have already heard from the women that the grave is empty, but they still do not know what has happened to Christ’s body. These are the Eleven of the Twelve Apostles whose names are written on the foundations of the New Jerusalem. Then, the resurrected Jesus shows Himself to two men, walks with them and breaks bread with them. Their eyes are opened to see Jesus Christ, to see that He is alive, He is resurrected from the dead. The first words spoken to the Eleven from their burning hearts was, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” The words of the women are now verified, and the men personally saw the resurrected Christ. Yet, the Eleven Apostles still have not seen for themselves.
When there is a burning in my heart to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it only requires a simple message, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Who knows, maybe one of my posts has already influenced someone who will carry the Gospel of Jesus even further into these ungodly times. Maybe one of my posts will be what carries someone through the great global tribulation. Maybe one of my posts will be the impetus to encourage a tribulation leader within the body of Jesus Christ. Just maybe one of my posts was read in the presence of the Spirit of Jesus Christ to give someone a burning in their heart to proclaim, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.”
“They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem.
There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying,
“It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.”
Then the two told what had happened on the way,
and how Jesus was recognized by them when He broke the bread.“
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
