Click for a description of the mark of the beast.
This is the sixth of the seven churches. The church has abandoned the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the faithful are slandered and persecuted, the church is corrupted, congregants are being taught to live by the “secret knowledge,” they are lively but dead to God, and now the faithful have little strength left.
- Faithful to Christ with Little Strength
- Eternal Life in the Temple of God
This message is from the one who is Holy and true and holds the key of David. What He opens cannot be shut and what He shuts cannot be opened. That is very good news for the few who are faithful but have little strength. The door that God opens through Jesus Christ will always be opened to them.
“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of Him who is Holy and true, who holds the key of David.
What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.”
Revelation 3:7
Faithful to Christ with Little Strength
Today, Satan is working through the inner presence of the mark of the beast and he is causing havoc for those faithful to Jesus Christ. It has power over physiology and is able to form emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. It is sapping the strength from us who are determined to remain faithful to God through His Son Jesus. God makes a promise to us, there will always be an open door that no one can shut. He knows that we are keeping His Word and we have not denied His name.
God will make those who live by the mark of the beast to fall at our feet and acknowledge that God has always loved us. They are the ones who mock God’s love, deny the plan of Salvation, and ridicule John 3:16 that says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” Those who mock God’s love are the same liars who claim to be Christians, really, they serve the god of the mark of the beast. When the tribulation comes to the whole world, God will preserve the faithful through Jesus Christ. He puts His seal on the forehead of His people to see us through the tribulation (Revelation 7). Jesus is coming soon so hold on to what you have through Him.
“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.
I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews
though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet
and acknowledge that I have loved you.
Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from
the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 3:8-11
Eternal Life in the Temple of God
The faithful will be a pillar in the eternal Temple of God. We are God’s people, and the New Jerusalem is our destination. God’s name, Jesus’s name, and the name of the city of God will be written all over us. On the Day of the Lord there is no question that the people of little strength belong to Him.
“The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.
Never again will they leave it.
I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God,
the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God;
and I will also write on them my new name.
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Revelation 3:12-13
Philadelphia and Smyrna, represent the two witnesses mentioned in Revelation 11. The two faithful witnesses are the “two lampstands,” and the “lampstands” are the churches as explained in Revelation 1:20. Smyrna is the faithful church that is slandered and persecuted and can be read about in in Revelation 2:8-11. Philadelphia is the faithful church that has little strength and can be read about here in Revelation 3:7-13. In these end times, there are the few of us who remain faithful to God through Jesus Christ. We are slandered, persecuted, are few, and have little strength. The intensity of the persecution will increase until the return of Jesus. There will always be a few of the faithful in this world up to the end.
