Encouraging Memories of Holy Spirit Interactions

1 Thessalonians 3:6-13

“Precious memories, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness, of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold”

Longing to Revisit the Times of Pleasant Memories
It’s always good news to hear from loved ones that hasn’t been heard from for a while. It is much better to see them face to face after a long time of being away. Almost anyone can relate to those pleasant occasions. In my experience, it is always a much greater joy to hear from those who live for Jesus Christ, and to know that their faith and love are alive and well. I’ve been to family reunions where it seemed like no one knew what the Bible was. They didn’t care so much for interactions with others through the Holy Spirit. I’ve also been in gatherings with other believers, and it is a much more pleasant time where the Holy Spirit is welcomed. The contrast between the two gatherings would be a tavern setting in comparison to a gathering of Believers. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 talks about the Holy Spirit being taken out of the way and unleashing all types of conflict. Today, people to people interactions are filled with obstacles. In this year 2022, the yearning to revisit the Spirit-filled gatherings still lives in me. Those times of fellowship in the Spirit of Jesus Christ are pleasant memories of faith and love.

But Timothy has just now come to us from you and
has brought good news about your faith and love.
He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and
that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you.”

1 Thessalonians 3:6

Encouragement from the Faithful During Turmoil
There is a lot of opposition to people gathering in the Holy Spirit nowadays. That’s because the Holy Spirit is being taken out of the way and the internal presence of the mark of the beast is unleashed into the world. Thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are being formed by that internal presence and it is not compatible to the Bible. It is against God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. People seeking to gather in the Spirit of Christ are being distressed and persecuted from inside and out. On the outside, the roadblocks come through those who live by the mark of the beast. That’s why it’s a very happy time when a person is found who is standing firm in the Lord. The Christian “Preppers” lift my spirit because they are taking these last days to heart and “fleeing to the mountains.” Their faith in God through Jesus Christ enlivens me and even adds to whatever lack in faith I might have.

“Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution
we were encouraged about you because of your faith.
For now, we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.
How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy
we have in the presence of our God because of you?
Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again
and supply what is lacking in your faith.”

1 Thessalonians 3:7-10

May the Holy Spirit Strengthen Us
The unspoken prayer that is always in my heart is for the love of the Holy Spirit to increase and overflow for others who live for God through Jesus. And to love everyone instead of being hateful and bitter. These are the days when love is cold but the faithful and few of Gods people are scattered around the world, and they are prepping for the return of Jesus. I hope that all of those who live for Jesus Christ are strengthened in the Holy Spirit. I hope we all continue to be blameless in God’s eyes when the Lord Jesus Christ returns. He is coming soon.

“Now may our God and Father Himself
and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.
May the Lord make your love increase and
overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.
May He strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and Holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones.”
