Revelation is a Message to Believers

Revelation 1

In my experience, any conversation about the Revelation sparks a lot of debate and controversy. To be more precise, it invites conflict to create interference into understanding its contents. For obvious reasons. It brings to light those who live by the inner presence of the mark of the beast. They do not want to be seen. It especially uncovers the whole global agenda of those who govern by the inner presence of the mark of the beast.

The most important thing to know before delving into the Revelation is who Jesus Christ is. This first chapter explains who He is. The Revelation is a direct message from God to Jesus Christ and then to the Church. It is written on the authority of Jesus Christ. Chapter two is the beginning of the Revelation.

The Revelation
The Revelation is a direct message from God to Jesus Christ and is for everyone who lives for Him. It explains the events that will be happening soon and are happening today. The book of the Revelation talks about the mark of the beast in chapter thirteen, which is already worldwide. The message was delivered to John by an Angel and John is a firsthand witness to the life of Jesus Christ. The Revelation is very reliable and credible. Those who read, understand, and keep what is written in the Revelation are blessed. Today is the time of the prophecy.

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him,
to show to His servants things which must shortly come to pass;
and He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John:
Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ,
and of all things that he saw.
Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy,
and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
Revelation 1:1-3

Identity of Jesus Christ
The Revelation is written expressly to the Church, to the followers of Jesus Christ. With everything that is written within its pages, grace and peace are wanted for the believers. Grace and peace come from Jesus Christ who is here in the present, existed from the beginning, and will be returning soon. Jesus came to witness about God’s plan of Salvation, He loved us and washed our sins away in His blood and was raised from the dead after three days in the grave. He is the King of kings and has made us kings and priests to God, His Father. To Him is an everlasting dominion and glory forever. When He returns, everyone will see Him coming from the clouds. All those who crucified Him from around the world will have a very heavy heart, it will be a day of sorrow for them. Anyone who rejects God pierces and crucifies Jesus. Jesus Christ is the beginning of all things and will be the end of all things.

“John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne;
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead,
and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye will see him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord,
which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:4-8

Message is to Be Written to the Church
Those of us who live for Jesus Christ are on an island relating to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The churches are no longer receptive to God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit. They live for the inner presence that considers itself to be God, have discarded the need for Jesus Christ, and trample all over the Holt Spirit. Society is dominated by those who live for the inner presence of the mark of the beast, and they are unfriendly to the Spirit of Christ. And social media platforms don’t have categories for individuals who classify themselves as Christian. Already, we are experiencing persecution for the Gospel of Christ. The Revelation is written for us, we are the Church where the Spirit of Christ is welcomed within us. Jesus Christ has the first word, and He will have the last, He is the Alpha and the Omega.

“I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation,
and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos,
for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying,
I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, what you see, write in a book,
and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.”
Revelation 1:9-11

Image of the Lord
A lampstand is made to hold a lamp that gives light, Jesus is that light. A believer can be considered a lampstand because we hold the lamp of Christ’s light in us. A church can be considered a lampstand because it is supposed to hold the lamp of Christ’s light. In these verses, it’s talking about the church that is supposed to have Christ’s light. Jesus Christ, the Beginning and the End is walking around in those churches. He isn’t liking what He is seeing within the church. He has a fierce appearance to match the fierce message that He gives to the Church through the Revelation.

The picture below is something like what is being described, but as to be expected nowadays, it doesn’t depict His full radiance and power. What the picture does get right is the long robe, golden sash around His chest, white hair, and the seven lampstands.

The eyes like a flame of fire (often refers to judgment), feet like fine brass burned in a furnace, the seven stars in the right hand (stars are the Angels or Messengers), and His countenance like the sun shining in its strength are not seen as they should be. It might be enough to know that there is a two-edged sword coming from His mouth. Which means He has some sharp words to believers to sever them from the phonies and the secular. In other words, the true believers will be separated from those inside the church that are phonies, secular, and carnal. True believers will be severed from those who think God is the inner presence of the mark of the beast. Also, His voice sounds like many waters, something like the sound of a powerful waterfall, it is a voice of power and authority.

“And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned,
I saw seven golden lampstands: And in the midst of the seven lampstands, one like unto
the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with
a golden girdle. His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and
His eyes were as a flame of fire; And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;
and His voice as the sound of many waters. And He had in His right hand seven stars:
and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword:
and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.”
Revelation 1:12-16

Writing on the Authority of Jesus Christ
The things seen in the Revelation are exactly the way things are in this world today. Satan is working through the inner presence of the mark of the beast which has power over physiology. It forms thoughts, emotions, and behaviors which gives it the ability to set on the lampstand as the light of the world. Which means it sets itself up as God while kicking out Jesus Christ and coming against God’s people. The Revelation is written for every believer to read and understand. It was written on the authority of Jesus Christ. He does not want us to fear, He was here at the beginning of all things and will be here to end all things. He is alive for eternity after being dead, and we will also be raised from the dead to live with Him. He has the keys to hell and death which means Satan and the beast does not. Jesus will use those keys to throw Satan and all his cohorts into the lake of fire.

“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me,
saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am He that lives, and was dead;
and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are,
and the things which will be hereafter;”
Revelation 1:17-19

The Seven Messengers and Seven Churches
What is said here is important to know when reading the Revelation in chapter eleven. The lampstands are the churches, and the stars are the Messengers or Angels. As said in chapter eleven, the witnesses near the return of Jesus Christ are severely hunted down and murdered. The faithful few will have the Spirit of Jesus Christ, they are the Church that holds the light of Christ within themselves.

The two witnesses in chapter eleven are the “two olive trees,” and olive trees represent the Holy Spirit. The “two lampstands” are revealed in the two faithful churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia. Smyrna is faithful, slandered, and persecuted, and Philadelphia has little strength but are faithful. There is nothing but praise for those two Churches. Smyrna can be read about in Revelation 2:8-11 Philadelphia can be read about in Revelation 3:7-13

“And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days,
clothed in sackcloth.”
They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands,
and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”
Revelation 11:3-4

“The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven lampstands which you saw
are the seven churches.”
Revelation 1:20
