Power Outage and Hope

Daniel 12

It encourages me to read the posts of those making an effort to live for Jesus in these distressing times. All the accounts of difficulties and troubles has a way of not just encouraging me but somehow emboldens me to carry on in the Spirit of the Lamb. It’s not an easy thing to be a support to someone else when we seem so close to the day when the influence of the followers of Jesus will end. If that power has not already ended. Daniel tells us it is not a matter of “if” but “when”, “When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.” and “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3, 7

This new social order will be here until the current global system collapses. Somehow, I have to manage to navigate through the thoughts I don’t want to think, the feelings I don’t want to feel, and the things I’ve done that I regret doing. I know that my humanness along with the Comforter will continue to be menaced until the end. There is no end to this age of human robots, but I know there a rescue plan “There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” Daniel 12:1-2
